What happens when once viable, small communities become the places that  people only drive through, not to? They become areas where resources like health care, healthy food, and jobs become a little harder to access. But because of organizations like East Harris County Empowerment Council, communities are learning to engage and partner with others to address societal needs and barriers in order to become stronger, and more resilient.
