Keynote Speakers:

Houston Conference for Women Keynote Speaker 2017


Carla Harris, world renowned speaker and bestselling author of the book "Expect to Win: 10 Proven Strategies for Thriving in the Workplace". While climbing the corporate ladder, Carla had her own personal missteps amidst numerous victories. She vowed that when she reached senior management and people came to her for advice, she would provide them with the tools, strategies, and pearls of wisdom honed by her own experience.

Houston Conference for Women Keynote Speaker 2017 Joann Lublin

Joann Lublin is management news editor for The Wall Street Journal. She works with reporters in the U.S. and abroad to conceptualize and organize coverage of management and workplace issues. She covers issues such as corporate governance, executive compensation, recruiting and succession and writes stories on these topics, mainly for the Journal's front page and Marketplace section. She assumed her duties in December 2002.

Ms. Lublin is the author of a new book called "Earning it: Hard-Won Lessons from Trailblazing Women at the Top of the Business World.'' It describes leadership lessons from 52 high-level female corporate executives, based on career obstacles they overcame. Nearly two-thirds of the women interviewed are experienced public company CEOs.

Houston Conference for Women Keynote Speaker 2017 Amanda Brock
Amanda Brock, founder and CEO of Water Standard, has spent her career building and managing global infrastructure businesses in the oil and gas, water and power industries. She was named one of the top 10 women in energy by the Houston Chronicle, recognized by Water & Wastewater International (WWI) as one of the top 25 global leaders in water and waste water, and also as an Honoree as an Innovator for Women in Energy. 

Amanda is viewed as an industry strategist, collaborating with Private Equity Investors to identify global investment opportunities in the water sector. She is also a regular columnist for Global Water Intelligence, writing on the water energy nexus.

Ms. Brock is from Mbabane, Swaziland and grew up in Zimbabwe. She is dedicated to conservation and passionate about water, elephants, art, and energy security.
